The Mashru silk saree is one of the most distinctive weaves to emerge from the looms of Varanasi — a fabric born from centuries of craft, where a satin-woven silk exterior meets a cotton inner layer. The Booti

Scattered across the body of this saree are delicate bootis — small, self-contained motifs woven directly into the fabric using fine zari thread. The booti is one of the most beloved elements of Banarasi weaving, rooted in Mughal floral traditions and refined over generations by the weavers of Varanasi.
